1.       Introduction

1.1    Data submitted by jobseekers on this website will be used by the Fire and Rescue Services in the East Midlands for the purposes of:

• Identifying job seekers who may be interested in particular roles using the Talent Pool and sending them alerts
• Assessing applicants’ suitability for a vacancy that has been advertised
• Contacting applicants about the progress of their application
• Obtaining references from previous employers
• Producing statistics on the applications for posts advertised by us.

1.2    We are the joint data controllers for all personal data that is submitted via this website.

1.3    Tribal Group plc (‘Tribal’) has been appointed by us as the data processor. Tribal is responsible for the storage of all personal data that is collected via this website. More information about Tribal can be found at

2.       Access To Applicants’ Details

2.1    All those involved in the recruitment to the post for which you are applying can see your application details. This will include:

• Our individual Recruitment Teams
• The short listing panel
• The interview panel
• The relevant HR and Payroll Teams – if you are successful

2.2    If you have completed your Talent Profile and have set it to ‘ON”, your name, surname, city/town, email address and telephone number(s) will be visible to the recruiting manager. They will also be able to view your personal statement, skills and experience, employment history and qualifications. They cannot view information such as your address.

2.3    If you do not want your Talent Profile to be visible to recruiting managers, you can set it to ‘OFF”.

2.4    The interview panel will have access to all application details for shortlisted applicants with the exception of their ethnic origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation and gender.

2.5    An applicant’s ethnic origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation and gender are only used to monitor equal opportunities compliance and the monitoring form is held independently of the application form.

2.6    The individual Recruitment Teams have access to the personal data of all job seekers using our e recruitment system. The Recruitment Teams are not involved in the selection of candidates for assessment/interview.

2.7    For some posts, we may use a third party to carry out assessment tests. If a third party is being used, applicants will be directed to an alternative website or will be introduced to the third party organisation as part of an assessment day. Applicants’ address, date of birth, disability, religion, sexual orientation, ethnic origin and gender will not be accessible by third parties.

3.       Data Storage

3.1    Data that is held in your account will be stored until such time as  you request to have your account removed.

3.2    All data held within your Talent Pool will be available for viewing for 12 months from the date you last logged on.

3.3    We reserve the right to contact job seekers who have not logged in for several months to ask them to update their details.

3.4    Job seekers can set their Talent Profile to ‘OFF’ to prevent it from being viewed at any time.

3.5    All data within submitted application forms will be stored for a period of 12 months.

4.       Data Sharing

4.1    We will not share any of your personal data with any third parties for the purposes of marketing or personal gain.

5.       Cookies

5.1    Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. This information is used to track visitor use of the website and to compile statistics on website activity. For further information visit
